THTR 381 Classical Drama and Theatre

This course will explore the origins and development of ancient Greek and Roman drama and theatre with an emphasis on the plays of Aeschylus, Sophocles, Euripides, and Aristophanes. Some attention will be given to the influence of the classical drama on subsequent periods of theatre history.
