THTR 348 Operations & Management for the Arts
This course focuses on the systematic planning and implementation of all activities required for a performance or exhibition. Topics include securing and managing facilities, scheduling, artistic programming staff/personnel management, representation, unions, contracts, licensing and copyrights, insurance, incorporation, and code compliance (environmental, ADA, state and federal ). Readings and lectures will emphasize case studies, and students will make use of New York City cultural institutions and government agencies for their assignments and projects.
