IIn this course, literature is recognized as an essential vehicle for exposing human rights abuses, holding those responsible for them accountable, and promoting change. The course offers students the opportunity to understand the rich history of human rights as a philosophical concept and political objective, to examine theoretical frameworks for linking human rights and literary studies, and to apply this knowledge to an analysis of several novels and books of poetry.
