EWL 314 The Many Lives of King Arthur

This course will examine the reality, literature and mythology of the great English King Arthur from his earliest appearance in Welsh texts and the lengthy redactions in the texts of Thomas Malory and Chretien de Troyes, through to his re-appropriation by the Victorian writers and artists and finally his use in modern day fantasy literature and film.
