HIST 307 Topics in Modern History
This reading, discussion, and research course will focus on a selected issue in 19th and 20th century European, comparative and global history. Possible topics: Comparative industrialization and social change; national formation in central and eastern Europe; the culture of European and American modernism: 1880-1930; the “New Imperialism,“ film and the globalization of culture. This course may be repeated for a total of 6 credits, but the topic may not be repeated.
