ART 334 Advanced 3-D Practices: Focus and Investigate

This course offers a full semester of a special topic in a specific area of sculptural or installation/ performance practice. Students with the basic 3-D fundamentals will focus on a particular set of methodologies and materials to assist in developing a body of work around a theme of their choosing. Areas of inquiry may include woodworking/fabrication, plaster, mold making and slip casting, digital processes, plastics, found objects and assemblage, kinetic and sound sculpture, photographic and video mediated sculpture, installation and performance. Private and public art are addressed in readings, discussions, image presentations, and visits to museums, galleries, and public spaces in the city. The topics and themes rotate each year.

This course may be repeated. Additional lab fee applies.
