Learning Goals for the Major in Business
Students who graduate from MMC will:
- Demonstrate cultural awareness, an ability to understand the perspectives of others, and an informed commitment to social, political, and ethical responsibility.
- Demonstrate critical thinking, quantitative, communication, and analytical skills that support lifelong learning
- Demonstrate an understanding of their discipline(s) and the ability to communicate and think across disciplinary boundaries
- Demonstrate creativity as makers, collaborators, and problem-solvers capable of enacting meaningful change
- Acquire the experience, skills, knowledge, confidence, and growth mindset necessary to achieve professional goals
NOTE: Business majors must pass MATH 113 with at least a C minus or pass a higher -level math course.
NOTE: All OPEN ELECTIVE courses must be chosen such that a total of 90 credits are in the liberal arts.
NOTE: A student receiving a grade of D or below in a required or elective, must repeat the course.
NOTE: Business majors in the fashion marketing concentration may not minor in fashion studies; business majors with a social entrepreneurship concentration may not double major in entrepreneurship, business majors with an advertising and promotion concentration may not double major in marketing; business majors in the leadership concentration may not double major in management.
