AIP 342 Fashion, History and Society (CP)
This course is a cultural exploration of the history of clothing from its origins through to the present day. We will discuss how fashion influences and is influenced by politics, geography, society and aesthetics throughout Western civilization. Special emphasis will be placed on historical research, and students will use New York City as a visual and literary source, particularly through visits to museums, galleries and libraries.
