THTR 364 Stage Management Colloquium
Students will serve as an Assistant Stage Manager or Production Stage Manager for either THTR 343 (Theatre Production: Mainstage) or THTR 225 (Theatre Production: Studio). Students learn to apply stage management theory to an actual production, applying the skills needed to collaborate with directors and other members of the production team. Major responsibilities will include: running rehearsals and performances, using production and organizational skills to assist in mounting the production, interpersonal dynamics, communication, blocking notation, and cueing in a variety of settings. As written evidence, students will generate a calling script and create other paperwork needed to mount a production. Additional lab (rehearsal hours) time will be assigned. The course may be repeated for a maximum of 12 credits.
