Music Marketing provides students with a comprehensive survey of the ever-evolving field of music marketing in the U.S. and beyond. The course examines core marketing elements including publicity, promotion, social media, influencer marketing, paid media, streaming playlisting strategies, sales strategies, NFTs, Web3, touring, and sync licensing. Students will learn how to build a core audience for their music and how to interpret analytics to gain traction on new releases. Through discussions, readings, and videos, students will develop an understanding of what it takes to market and promote music in a saturated marketplace and utilize best practices in music marketing.
