Policy on the Academic Catalog
The College publishes the online Academic Catalog each academic year. It serves as a principal policy document. Information in the Catalog relates primarily to degree requirements and matters relating to academic policies and procedures, as well as general guidelines for enrollment and degree completion. It also includes the official academic calendar and information and policies relating to tuition and fees, financial aid, and academic and student services.
Annual Preparation of the Academic Catalog
The Office of Academic Affairs is responsible for preparation and oversight of the Academic Catalog.
Degree requirements are updated in the Catalog once they have completed the necessary approval processes. This work must be completed according to the timeline established by the Curriculum Committee and the Office of Academic Affairs in order to be included in the Catalog. Any curriculum changes that are not approved prior to the online publication date cannot be included in the Catalog and therefore cannot go into effect during that academic year.
All other revisions to the Catalog must be received according to the timelines established by the Office of Academic Affairs. This includes approval by the appropriate Vice President of information regarding matters other than degree requirements and academic policies and procedures.
Preparation of the Academic Catalog begins in May and continues through its online publication at the start of each fall semester. The Academic Catalog is frozen and officially published online on the first day of each fall semester.
Degree Requirements and the Academic Catalog
It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that they are following the degree requirements outlined in Catalog of their starting year at the College.
Students may request to follow a Catalog after their starting year by submitting a Catalog Change Petition in the Office of Advisement.
Prospective students should use the most current Catalog for the most current degree requirements and policies.
Changes to the Academic Catalog during the Academic Year
Every possible effort is made to ensure that the information published in the online Academic Catalog is current. However, the College reserves the right to update and/or correct information in the Catalog during the academic year, including: the academic calendar; fees; rules regulating College admissions, registration, and graduation; and other policies and regulations. The Office of Academic Affairs reserves the right to edit the Catalog as necessary but will make every effort not to make edits that significantly impact policies, procedures, or degree requirements. Changes shall go into effect whenever they have gone through the required approval process and shall apply to current and prospective students.
The Academic Catalog is not intended to be a contract or an offer to contract by students enrolled or enrolling in the College.
