COMM 324 Video Postproduction

Through screenings and using shared footage from narrative, documentary, and industrial productions, students focus on postproduction’s role in the creative filmmaking process and examine editing theories and styles in a workshop environment. Students become advanced in the use of Premiere for picture editing and acquainted with other postproduction finishing software including ProTools, After Affects and DaVinci Resolve. Also explored will be best practices in relationship to post preproduction workflow: Pre-postproduction (syncing, logging, bin organization), picture editing, finishing (score, sound mix, color correction, titles) and, finally, providing distribution deliverables (web, broadcast, theatrical). Additional lab fee applies.
