ART 228 Animal, Human, Monster: 3-D Character Animation

In this course, students will explore professional modeling and animation software to produce efficiently designed and emotionally compelling characters. The students will choose to create and animate cartoon animals, naturalistic humans, or nightmarish monsters. Understanding the principles of animation will students provide you with the necessary framework to experiment with and program realistic movements and physics simulations. Students will develop illustration strategies: Tackling basic modeling, character rigging, and texturing to realize sophisticated characters who interact with the world around them. The class will culminate in the production of a short narrative sequence.
