ART 205 History of Photography
This course chronicles the major contributions to the art and science of photography. Paralleling world history, it provides a background to build an understanding of and appreciation for light-sensitive materials, photographic skills and technologies, and introduces students to the pioneers, scientists, and major artists/photographers from photography’s debut in 1839 to the present. Classroom lectures are augmented by audio/visual presentations, exhibit visits, and readings.
