THTR 296 Introduction to Playwriting

A combination lecture, discussion, and lab course in which students explore play structures and aspects of the creative process through weekly exercises devised around key elements of dramatic writing (time, place, action, voice). Students will also read and discuss a variety of contemporary plays, which will be chosen for their relevance to the topics of the weekly writing assignments.
