EWL 357 Psychological Portraits  in Literature  

This course examines how writers use psychological insight to develop characters and how, as Jung realized, imaginative literature frequently provides psychological insight into human behavior prior to scientific formulation. These portraits will be related to current psychological theories and research. Writers from the Greeks to the present will be included, including readings from major psychological works.
