ART 228 Animal, Human, Monster: 3-D Character Animation
This course explores modeling and animation tool sets to produce efficiently designed and emotionally compelling characters that range from cartoon animals to naturalistic humans and nightmarish monsters. A study of the principles of animation provide a fundamental framework for experimentation with realistic movements and physics simulations using professional software. An emphasis is placed on developing illustration strategies, basic modeling skills, character rigging, and texturing to realize sophisticated characters who interact with the world around them. The course culminates in the production of a short narrative sequence. This course is open to all students, major, minor, and non - majors.
