THTR 236 Vectorworks: CAD Drafting for the Theatre

This course is an introduction to the process and practice of Computer Aided Design.  Students will learn the fundamental similarities and differences between CAD and mechanical drafting, as well as the inherent benefits and challenges.  Through a series of projects related to drafting for the performing arts, students will develop a basic to moderate familiarity with the tools and procedures of the Vectorworks software. This includes, but is not limited to, 2D and 3D drafting and modeling, digital workspace organization, project collaboration and sharing, and rendered presentation. Additional lab fee applies.
