PHIL 261 Political Philosophy

Course provides an overview of the major developments of political thought in the Western philosophical tradition. The course also contrasts the classical tradition with contemporary political philosophies. Major authors to be read include Plato, Aristotle, Machiavelli, Hobbes, Locke, Jefferson, Thoreau, Marx, Gandhi, and Fanon.
