The Griffin Guide Student Handbook

Recording/Photography

In order to protect students’ rights to privacy and avoid undue disruption of the College community, students are not permitted to film, record, or photograph other members of the campus community without explicit consent. Explicit consent is also needed if you wish to record a conversation, post personal images or recordings online, or live stream, which includes but is not limited to Tiktok, Instagram, Snap Chat, Facebook, X, or any other social media and/or streaming platforms. It is also prohibited to edit or digitally alter, and/or create AI generated images of others without explicit permission.

Recording or photographing during online or in-person classes is strictly prohibited unless a student has received explicit permission from the instructor. For performance based courses, review course syllabi for additional guidance. An exception is made for students who have registered with the Office of Disability Services and have an accommodation to receive audio recordings.

The College reserves the right to use, re-use, publish, and re-publish images and videos taken during events. Media Release Notifications with additional details are posted around the College.

Additionally, the College may, at its discretion, film for promotional or other purposes. Notification of such instances will be posted.
