THTR 103 Introduction to Acting

This course is an introduction to several foundational approaches and techniques of acting, and the kinds of analytical and creative activities that acting entails. Students read several plays and learn to apply methods of script analysis and dramatic interpretation. Acting exercises based on relaxation, concentration, focus, and imagination are explored and applied to discover and develop the student’s emotional and physical capacity to interpret monologues and scene studies. Not open to BFA Acting or BFA Musical Theatre majors. Additional lab fee applies.
