DANC 115 Embodied Africanist Aesthetics I

Embodied Africanist Aesthetics I offers a comprehensive learning experience that involves physical practice, assigned reading and reflective writing assignments to delve into various foundational Africanist dance practices. The course introduces students to the roots of African and African Diasporic dance forms in order to develop a deeper understanding of their histories, functions and significance. Students will engage with movement practices and folklore from West Africa, the Caribbean, and more.
