DANC 108 Tap Foundations/Percussive Dance
This foundational Percussive Dance course explores the myriad global dance forms that use rhythmic footwork as a central feature of their technique and aesthetic. The course will engage with styles including, but not limited to; Step, Flamenco, Baratanatym, Hoofing, Clogging, and Tap. The course explores the history, development, and contemporary intersections between percussive dance forms through embodied practice, supported by readings, viewings, and written assignments. This course may be repeated for up to 4 credits. Additional lab fee applies.
