Race and Ethnicity Seminar Learning Objectives:
As a result of taking the Race and Ethnicity Seminar, students will be able to:
- Articulate an understanding of the history of racially and/or ethnically based discrimination (ILO 1);
- Explain the construction of racial and/or ethnic hierarchies and their distribution of political, social, and economic power (ILO 2);
- Analyze cultural texts and/or creative expressions in relation to social, historical, and political formations of racial and/or ethnic identities (ILO 4).
Scientific Literacy Seminar, 3 Credits
Scientific Literacy Seminar Learning Objectives:
As a result of taking the Scientific Literacy Seminar, students will be able to:
- Identify and articulate the contributions of science and scientific modes of inquiry to human endeavors;
- Analyze and interpret empirical data (ILO 2);
Use scientific methodologies and apply advanced-level critical thinking skills (ILO 2).
MMC Seminar, 6 Credits
MMC Seminar Learning Objectives:
As a result of taking an MMC Seminar, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate cultural, social, political, and/or ethical awareness and a capacity to understand the perspectives of others (ILO 1);
- Articulate an understanding of complex national and/or international topics across and between disciplines (ILO 3);
- Apply advanced-level critical and/or creative skills to this inquiry (ILO 2).
