ART 115 Ceramics I
This course provides an introduction to the ceramic medium as both sculptural and functional, including instruction on the potter's wheel, materials, and firing. Students review the history of ceramics, its basic science and terminology. They acquire an understanding of other cultures through the study of their ceramic legacy. Visits to museums and other cultural institutions are required. Students will practice of safe procedures and responsible studio citizenship. Additional lab fee applies.
