United Nations, magnet for immigrants, center stage for the performing arts, global financial center--New York City is the place where people from all walks of life, from Alexander Hamilton to Fiorello LaGuardia, from Langston Hughes to Leonard Bernstein, make their reputations. This course takes advantage of New York’s unparalleled opportunities for interdisciplinary exploration by combining walking tours with reading, documentaries, and library resources.
