HIST 247 Modern South Asia
This course will introduce students to the diversity and richness of the history, culture, and institutions of the countries of South Asia. Although each of the countries has its own distinctive characteristics, they all are deeply interconnected by common historical as well as cultural and linguistic ties. The course will focus on the political context and evolution of South Asia and the interrelated and relevant social, economic, cultural, and institutional features of its peoples and countries.
