DANC 249 Jazz II
This course is an advanced study of jazz as an American dance form. Students are required to analyze and recreate choreographic phrases incorporating stylistic differences appropriate to the diversity of jazz traditions. The evolution of jazz as an art form is discussed and dancers are expected to incorporate this knowledge into their performance of the idiom. This course may be repeated up to 9 credits. Additional lab fee applies.
Prerequisite
Dance majors by audition only and subsequent levels by placement or proficiency demonstrated in previous level.
