COMM 346 Podcasting
This class will focus on the production of documentary-style audio stories. As a class, we will listen to excerpts of podcasts and analyze them. Through the completion of weekly listening assignments and the preparation of analytical notes to bring in and discuss in class, you will develop greater facility with speaking and writing about the technical and aesthetic components of audio narration. Throughout the class you will create three audio assignments, culminating in a ten-minute audio feature story. You’ll create and edit these assignments using Zoom recorders, a sound booth, and ProTools. You’ll also gain experience pitching your ideas as well as workshopping your finished work with your classmates. Additional lab fee applies.
