RS 339 Hinduism

This course will investigate the Hindu religious tradition. Early Vedic scriptures, later religious literature (e.g., the Bhagavad Gita, the Laws of Manu, and the Puranas), and Hinduism’s historical encounter with Islam and “the West” will be examined, with an eye toward interpreting and understanding contemporary beliefs and practices.
