PHIL 320 Philosophy of Mathematics

Some aspects of mathematics that make it of philosophical interest are its abstractness, its applicability to the physical world, and the concept of infinity. Philosophy of Mathematics studies the conceptual foundations of mathematics, the nature of mathematical objects, and the methodology of mathematics. In this course we will examine some problems in the philosophy of mathematics related to these ideas, and responses to these problems.
