Dear Students,

Welcome to Marymount Manhattan College! Whether you are a new Griffin, a returning Griffin, or a NYC Scholar, you are an important part of our community. Each year we produce this student handbook, The Griffin Guide, to ensure you learn all about the space we share together.

I am thrilled to serve as the Associate Vice President for Student Life and your Dean of Students. My job is to help you grow and develop as an individual; build a strong, respectful community; and support your educational experience outside the classroom. Marymount Manhattan College and New York CIty have much to offer—as such, we hope you choose to share aspects of yourself by participating in a variety of experiences and group events throughout the year. Your college experience can be greatly enhanced by your out-of-classroom, volunteer, and community involvement.

One key to success at MMC is to get involved! The College has approximately 20 active RSOs (registered student organizations), and the Office of Student Development and Activities produces many events and programs each semester- including several leadership development opportunities such as our semester-long Emerging Leaders program and the Orientation/ Peer Leader program. Both the Student Government Association (SGA) and the Campus Activities Board (CAB) provide many opportunities to get involved, have fun, and make new friends.

We know you will find The Griffin Guide, which includes our student Code of Conduct, a valuable resource, and I encourage you to read through it carefully. We look forward to working with you to enhance your experience as a Marymount Manhattan College student.

Best wishes for the most extraordinary year!
