EWL 125 The Literary Imagination
This course is designed to introduce students to the power of the literary imagination. Students will explore how authors exercise their imaginations to communicate their ideas in several literary genres, including poetry, drama, and fiction. Students will also learn and practice the skills of close reading, thorough discussion and analytical writing about literature. By the end of this course, students will have studied a range of literature, had opportunities to engage in oral and written analysis of literature, and had the opportunity to appreciate the unique perspective that authors enjoy as they exercise the literary imagination.
