SOC 415 Field Experience and Public Policy

This is the capstone experience in the minor in social work. The course will be devoted to directing students to think about social policy and macro level social work practice. It will focus on increasing the knowledge and skills necessary to provide community based social services. Students will think about the relevance of developmental theory to their work in internships. They will also research the history of a social policy or belief system that impacts the well being of clients in their field placements.  Students will continue the internships that they began in Field Experience I and will use their knowledge and experience from both the class and the field to evaluate critically the success of the agency in providing services.
