PHIL 109 Introduction to Logic

By what criteria do we distinguish good arguments from bad ones? What does it mean to say that one statement follows from another?  Logic, as the science of argumentation, attempts to give students ways to answer these questions so that they can improve their abilities to express ideas clearly and concisely, analyze arguments critically, and strengthen their capacity to create and defend strong arguments.
