ECO 375 Money, Banking and Financial Markets

This course is a study of the theory and practice of financial markets and institutions. The theory and structure of the monetary and credit systems will be analyzed. The role of major financial institutions in shaping the modern US economy will be viewed from the perspective of  economic history.  Case studies and  applied research  will be used to examine the impact of the great depression and the recent financial crisis on the evolution and regulation of financial institutions in the context of the US experience.
