MATH 320 Philosophy of Mathematics

This course examines some of the fundamental problems in the philosophy of mathematics: the conceptual foundations of mathematics, the nature of mathematical objects, and the methodology of mathematics. Responses to these problems will be studied as well as other aspects of mathematics that make it of philosophical interest such as its abstractness, its applicability to the physical world, and the concept of infinity.
