This course emphasizes a conscious use of intention as an integral part of performance and an awareness and investigation of the importance of the dancers’ relationship to space. Dancers utilize an expressive and qualitative range in movement, performance, and creative work. Students’ written work is expected to be reflective of an increased intellectual understanding of modern dance and its social and historical influence. This course may be repeated up to 9 credits unless otherwise noted. Additional lab fee applies.

Dance majors by audition only and subsequent levels by placement or proficiency demonstrated in previous level.
