BIOL 332 Bioethics

This course focuses on the contemporary issues in bioethics; the study of ethical issues in the field of medical treatment, the life sciences and medical research.  It examines the standard moral and philosophical theories of ethics, then applies these concepts to current topics in bioethics including; end of life decisions, reproductive technologies, patient autonomy, human, animal and fetal research and technologies, organ transplantation and genetic testing and engineering.  The primary goal of this course is to provide the student with an ethical framework to address these contemporary issues.
