ART 350 Watercolor Painting II

Building on the basic techniques of watercolor painting, students explore less traditional avenues by mixing media, using collage, working large-scale and three-dimensionally. They will investigate the styles and techniques of both historical and contemporary watercolor artists, helping give insight into their own creative process. Students discover what Paul Klee called their “thinking eye,” a methodology of critical seeing, designing and describing their personal vision. Working individually with the instructor, they develop a cohesive portfolio of work and a well-constructed artist statement.
